What is a humidity sensor?
Humidity sensors use either a capacitive or electrolytic measuring component that converts the change in humidity into an analogue or digital signal. They are often used in conjunction with a temperature sensor to create a clearer picture of the climate within a space.
Permanent setup for humidity sensors
In a permanent setup, the humidity sensor is mounted in a fixed position. The readings are transmitted to a regulation system, building management system or monitoring system, allowing continuous monitoring and/or registration that is both accurate and reliable.
The right humidity sensor offers the following benefits:
- Key to a regulated and optimal indoor climate
- Reduced production losses
- Energy savings through correct humidification or drying
- Extends the service life of filter systems and humidifiers
- Less monitoring and fewer plant modifications at the factory
Humidity sensors applications
Pedak’s humidity sensors are highly accurate and are available with an optional calibration certificate. They are also easy to calibrate annually. They allow us to maintain optimum humidity in operating theatres, optimise production processes and make unnecessary energy costs a thing of the past. Reliable measurement of high humidity, for purposes such as germinating plants, measuring humidity in explosive environments or where there are high ambient temperatures, for instance, in drying processes. There’s a sensor for every application.
If you need fast on-site measurements, a handheld meter may provide the ideal solution.
Which humidity sensor do you need?
We understand that there is a huge selection of instruments, so we would like to help you make the right choice. After all, there is no clear-cut answer to the question of which sensor to choose. The industry and the space in which measurements are being taken, together with the required level of accuracy, are of crucial importance.
When choosing a meter, you need to bear in mind selection criteria such as accuracy, stability, reproducibility and hysteresis.
